How do I use a USB splitter with my Wireless Charger for Model 3?

Wireless Charger for Tesla Model 3 has two power cables that plug into the front console via USB. In order for the Wireless Charger to power on, both of its power cables must be plugged into and receiving power. However, we have found that a USB splitter can be used in one or both of the front console USB ports to direct power to the Wireless Charger while also leaving at least one USB port available for alternative uses. Please note: There are different versions of splitters and therefore different configurations. Please see below to distinguish how your Wireless Charger should be configured.

With our included USB Splitter:

The clear/gray tag on the left cable of the USB splitter picture below also appears on the actual USB splitter and indicates the USB port that supports both data and charging.

With the Onvian USB Splitter from Amazon:

The red tag on the left cable of the USB splitter picture below also appears on the actual Onvian USB splitter and indicates the USB port that supports only charging. If you have any interest in using the Dashcam feature made available in V9, an audio flash drive for music, or a charging cable for a passenger that doesn't have a wireless charging enabled device, using the two included USB splitters from Nomad or buying your own preferred USB splitters/hub is the best solution that we've found by far.

During our most recent tests, we were able to successfully use USB splitters in the left, right, and both front console USB ports to solve this issue with no adverse effects on the power output from the wireless charging pad. By using a USB splitter in one of the front console USB ports, one of the Wireless Charger's power cables can be plugged into the car and the other can be plugged into the splitter (which is plugged into the car's second USB port), leaving an open port in the USB splitter for a flash drive or charging cable. The Wireless Charger's power-on sequence works flawlessly while its power cables are plugged into either the front console or a USB splitter. Please note that the Wireless Charger works while plugged into two USB splitters, but does not work when both power cables are plugged into a single USB splitter.
