Leather Care GuideUpdated 11 days ago

We source our leather from two renowned tanneries: Horween Leather Company and Danish tannery Ecco.

Both of our leather options are naturally and minimally treated and will therefore scratch and mark easily within the first few weeks of use. With everyday use, the leather will buff these scratches and marks in a rich, shiny patina and become more resistant to wear. This is totally normal and a sign of the leather's authenticity.

Horween Leather

Horween Leather Company is the oldest continually operated tannery in the United States. Their old-fashioned tanning process can take up to 2 months and requires over 89 different processes. The result is top-quality leather that patins quickly to become uniquely yours. Learn more here

Most of the leather we source from Horween is their Essex leather but we also worked with Limited Edition leathers chromexcel and dublin for iPhone 16.

Ecco Leather

Starting with the iPhone 13, we introduced a new leather option. After over two years of collaboration with Danish tannery Ecco, we created a high-quality leather at a more affordable price point. It has the same authentic leather scent as Horween leather and will develop a rich patina over time, but it's crafted using modern, faster, and mostly mechanized tanning methods.

Caring for Your Leather

Can I get my leather gear wet?
No, try to avoid exposure to moisture as much as possible! Our leather doesn't have any synthetic sealants so water may damage it. If it is exposed to water, allow it to fully dry out in a warm, sunny area, then treat it with a high-quality leather conditioner.

What leather conditioner should I use?

You can use any high-quality conditioner but we recommend Ashland Leather Company's leather conditioner following the method outlined below.
