<p>We source our leather from two renowned tanneries: Horween Leather Company and Danish tannery Ecco.&#xA0;</p><style type="text/css" id="isPasted">

</style><p>All the leather we use is naturally and minimally treated, which means it&apos;ll scratch, mark, and show signs of wear&#x2014;especially in the first few weeks. This is completely normal. Over time, everyday use will help the leather develop a rich, shiny patina that buffs out those early marks. These imperfections aren&#x2019;t flaws, but rather proof of the leather&#x2019;s authenticity and character.</p><h1 id="horween-leather">Horween Leather&#xA0;</h1><p>Horween Leather Company is the oldest continually operated tannery in the United States. Their old-fashioned tanning process can take up to 2 months and requires over 89 different processes. The result is top-quality leather that patins quickly to become uniquely yours. Learn more <a class="fr-strong" href="https://nomadgoods.com/pages/horween-leather" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>.&#xA0;</p><p id="isPasted">Most of the leather we source from Horween is their Essex leather, but we&#x2019;ve also worked with other types, including Chromexcel, Dublin, and Shell Cordovan.</p><h1 id="isPasted">Ecco Leather&#xA0;</h1><p>Starting with the iPhone 13, we introduced a new leather option. <span id="isPasted" style="text-decoration:none;">Ecco leather was developed by Nomad in collaboration with a Danish tannery called Ecco. The Ecco team utilizes modern tanning techniques that are adaptable, efficient, and innovative. Our leather doesn&apos;t have any synthetic sealants so water may damage it. If it is exposed to water, allow it to fully dry out in a warm, sunny area, then treat it with a high-quality leather conditioner.&#xA0;</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 16px;"><strong>My leather gear is really stiff. What can I do?</strong> Our leather can feel stiff when it first arrives. As you continue to use your leather gear, it should start to break in and loosen up. Your wallet&apos;s slots will start to accomodate more cards, your Modern Leather Folio&apos;s flap will start to fold more evenly over your iPhone screen, e.t.c.&#xA0;</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 16px;"><strong>What leather conditioner should I use?<br></strong>You can use any high-quality conditioner to treat your Horween and Ecco leather gear but we recommend <a class="fr-strong" href="https://nomadgoods.com/products/leather-conditioner" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ashland Leather Company&apos;s leather conditioner</a> following the method outlined below. What's the deal with English Tan?

The glow will gradually fade over this period and may appear slightly uneven depending on the duration and intensity of light exposure.
