Made for MagSafe vs MagSafe Compatible (and Qi2)

Here at Nomad, we're proud to offer two types of MagSafe chargers - Made for MagSafe and MagSafe Compatible. Both offer fast and reliable magnetic charging from thoughtfully designed, high-quality bodies.

The primary difference between the two is charging speed. Our Made for MagSafe chargers are built with official Apple MFi technology for fast charging up to 15W. On the other hand, our MagSafe Compatible chargers offer a steady and reliable 7.5W charge, perfect for overnight or workday charging. 

Within MagSafe Compatible, you'll find our Qi2 products including Stand. Our Qi2 products charge up to 15W for any Qi2 device.

Charging Tips

Stand features Qi2 wireless charging technology that charges any Qi2 device up to 15W (including iPhone 13, 14, and 15 with iOS 17.2 or beyond). It offers 15W for any other MagSafe device and 7.5W for non-MagSafe magnetic devices. 

Due to its angled surface, Stand is only compatible with MagSafe devices (iPhone 12 and beyond). 

Note, Stand does not include a 20W USB-C power adapter. Not including an adapter in Stand's packaging saves on environmental waste, keeps packaging sizes smaller, and lowers our carbon footprint. Learn more about our environmental efforts here.

Troubleshooting

To reset the unit, unplug Stand from the outlet, wait 3 seconds, then plug it back in. 

If you continue to experience issues with your Stand, please reach out to our Support Team at [email protected]. We prefer to help you solve technical issues over email as opposed to phone so we can request photos and videos and send you step-by-step troubleshooting instructions you can then look back on if needed. 

Warranty

At Nomad, we offer a 2-year limited warranty on all our products. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and workmanship issues but doesn’t cover: 

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Misuse or abuse of the product

  • Modifications made to the product

If your Nomad product is found to be defective, we’ll exchange it for a brand-new replacement. However, we cannot guarantee that the exact style or product will be in stock at the time of your claim. If a replacement isn’t available, we’ll provide a store credit instead. This store credit never expires and can be used toward any product on our website.

Nomad is not responsible for any damages resulting from the use of our products. Additionally, our warranty does not cover the repair or replacement of electronic devices or other personal property.
